Lauren O’Keefe is a writer and digital content creator from Melbourne, Australia. She completed her Masters of Communication (with distinction) in 2021 and her Graduate Diploma of Journalism in 2018, both from RMIT University.
She believes that that good content is king and creating it should be the primary goal of everyone who works in this area. Good communication is always beneficial.
Her interests lie in writing, profile pieces and audio. She loves the process of sitting down with people, listening their stories and then shaping what she’s been told into something that can be shared.
Prior to returning to study, Lauren had a long and successful career working in web publishing at RMIT University. She has extensive CMS experience, including Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and WordPress. On occasion, Lauren has been known to write HTML code and CSS.
Lauren has also had experience working with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Lightroom, Dreamweaver and Audition. She is a keen amateur photographer and has been taking photos for around 10 years. Her approach to photography is that the best camera is the one you have with you.
She is an enthusiastic recreational cyclist which had a strong influence over her choice in subject matter for her Journalism course. Cycling was also the focus for her Masters’ research project, where she researched and wrote an article about female cyclists in Melbourne called Chasing Joy.
